The Spring League

Are you ready to take on the Spring League?

Join us for our biggest community event of the year. Take on 75 boulders across our 3 centres (Aldgate, White City, and Stratford) over 3 weeks (24th April - 15th May).

Then, tackle 25 more blocs at Stratford for the 4th round and finals on Saturday 16th May.

How It works:

‍Rounds 1-3 (24/04 - 15/05) - White City, Aldgate, Stratford

• 25 boulders at each centre (V0-V9) identified by 4 bits of tape and Spring League tag.
• Climb as many of them as you can and log your scores on Griptonite as you go (10pts for a top, +1pt for a flash).

‍Round 4 & Finals (16/05) - Stratford

• For the final round, take on 25 boulders in just one day!
• Climb as many of them as you can and log your scores on Griptonite (10pts = 1st attempt, 7pts = 2nd attempt, 4 pts = 3rd attempt, 2pts = 4+ attempts, +1pt for a zone).
• There will be an AM and a PM slot, we recommend getting down early for better conditions.
• DJ, stalls, workshops, food and drinks, raffle prizes and podiums.
• To qualify for finals, you must’ve taken part in all of Rounds 1-4 across all 3 centres and the top 6 scorers from Rounds 1-4 across Male and Female categories will qualify for finals.
• Finals are from 5:30-7:30pm.
• Podiums + after-party 7:45-8:30pm

• Open to everyone 14+.*
• Boulders ranging in grades V0-V9, any experience encouraged to take part!
• Podiums for Male, Female, Gender Non-Conforming and Para.**

Members (City Bouldering & Climbing Co.)

Step 1: Book Your League Ticket (Rounds 1-3) (select your closest centre)

• This gives you access to all 3 centres and Spring League climbs between 24th April - 15th May.

Step 2: Book Your Round 4 + Finals Day (available to book soon)

• FREE (booking required)
• This gives you access to Round 4 & Finals at Stratford on Saturday 16th May.

Non-Members

Step 2: Book Your League Round 4 + Finals Day Ticket (available soon)

• Free with a League Ticket (booking required)
• This gives you access to Round 4 & Finals at Stratford on Saturday 16th May.

Round 4 & Finals Day Spectators & Supervisors

• Round 4 + Finals Day spectators: £5 (available soon)
• Youth climbers (14-15yrs) are allowed to bring 1 supervisor, they do not need to book a ticket.

Your League ticket works as a membership across all 3 centres, so you can climb as much as you want during this time. This event is all about connecting the 3 communities, pushing yourself, having fun and winning some prizes along the way!

Please note:

*For ages 14-15, supervising ratios apply as normal.

** Only Male and Female categories advance to finals, but everyone is encouraged to compete and celebrate throughout the League. In order to qualify for podium prizes you must’ve taken part in all 4 rounds at all 3 centres.

Disruption Notice:

During the League there may be temporary disruptions to normal climbing routes and facilities.

Rounds 1-3 Setting disruptions to ALL centres between 20th April - 24th April. Rounds start from 6pm on Friday 24th April.

Round 4 + Finals setting disruption at Stratford on Thursday 14th and Friday 15th May.

FAQ

Q: What is the League?

A: A three-week climbing event across all three City Bouldering Centres.

Q: Who is it for?

A: Everyone! Most routes are V3 or below, with harder climbs available too.

‍

Q: Which centre should I choose?

A: Pick the one you’ll climb at most. Your League ticket is valid at all three centres.

‍

Q: What is the 4th Round? Do I need to attend?

A: It’s the final round of the League, all participants who want to qualify for finals need to attend and climb to boost their total scores. If you didn’t participant in previous rounds, you can join for a fun day of climbing and raffle prizes.

Q: Can my friends watch me climb on Saturday 16th May?

A: Yes they can, but they need to buy a spectator ticket to guarantee entry on the day!

Q: Are the prizes only for the strongest climbers?

A: Not at all! There will be loads of raffle prizes for all participants.

Q: I’ve never done a climbing event before. Is it serious?

A: This event is all about trying your best, and having fun.

Q: Are all centres accessible?

A: White City and Stratford are wheelchair accessible. Aldgate and Climbing Co. Fulham have stairs and no lift, contact the centre if unsure.
